This extensive collection is housed in a magnificent structure, the Thomas W. Phillips Memorial, in Nashville, Tennessee. The building, completed in 1958, was built entirely for the Society's use as a library, archival center and museum. It was designed in the great tradition of Gothic architecture and art, employing stone sculpture and stained glass to depict Divine revelation and religious history. In November 2006, the building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the U.S. Department of the Interior, after having been nominated by the Tennessee Historical Commission.

This research center is unique in its beauty, appointments and also in its provision for the safe storage and convenient use of the wealth of historical resources it contains.

The library of Stone-Campbell Movement materials includes: 37,000 volumes, 35,000 biographical files, 25,000 congregational records and 2,000 audio-visual items.
